The day is intended for anyone interested in fly fishing and is open to club members and the public. A $7 donation is requested for the day for adults which includes a buffet lunch and a raffle ticket to win a custom built Cote’s IM6 graphite 9’ 5 wt. rod, 4pc, sock and tube. Kids under 17 free. The fly rod building class ranges in cost from $140 – $180 depending on rod weight, blank, and accessories. All other events are free of charge. Rod building will be 10am – 3pm with check in starting at 9:30am. Advanced registration and $25 deposit required. 10 am – 3 pm: Long distance and short distance (for streams) fly casting demos by F.F.F. certified LL Bean fly casting instructor Pat Grenier and by TU member Ron Lasko. Fly tying demos led by Armand Courchaine with multiple tyers demonstrating tying popular fly patterns. “A Tale of Two Rivers” trout stream fly fishing book presentation and signing by author Ron Lasko 12:30 – 1:30 pm. Fishing trip planning and fisheries conservation and habitat restoration discussions and networking throughout the day. Rod drawing at 3:15 p.m.
