Kalil Boghdan and Bob Torkildsen receive the Chapter’s Outstanding Service Award for once again organizing a successful banquet/fundraiser! Their leadership qualities enabled other members to pitch in: Ben Meade, Geof Day, Ken Washburn, Dave Walsh, Fred Jennings, Josh Rownd and Peter Vandermeulen. And donations of one-of-a-kind special crafts by Geoff Klane, Chett Walsh, Dorothy Boghdan and Joe Borsetti.
Capping the night was Greg Murrer doing the honors of awarding John Dold, Superintendent of the Boxford DPW for partnering with the Chapter to restore Crooked Pond Brook with two projects eliminating barriers to fish migration. Crooked Pond Brook is a cold-water stream that feeds into Fish Brook in Boxford. Engineering for the projects was done by Chapter member Michael O’Neill and fundraising to the tune of over $400,000 was accomplished by member Greg Murrer.
That is why over 100 people turned out to enjoy an excellent meal and to support the Chapter’s successes with their generous bidding on some truly awesome auction items.
