The regular monthly meeting on April 3 will feature an essential lecture on how to stay safe while fishing. Since you have survived a pandemic, it would be a shame if you drowned fishing.

The Nor’East Chapter of Trout Unlimited
Speaker at 7:00pm – Arthur Howe will present to us live. Dinner at 6:00pm
Arthur’s presentation is titled – Fishing Safety: Your Life is Worth It
This evening’s presentation will be a very important introduction to fishing safety, and how one can make safety a standard part of every fishing trip, whether for two hours or for two weeks. Art’s presentation will not be technical, but rather it will focus on the everyday things one can do to be safe while fishing. Very often one takes safety for granted when fishing, and topics for this evening’s presentation will include: items one should have with them but often take for granted when venturing out to fish – choosing the correct sunglasses; proper outerwear; sunscreens; etc. Art is hoping that the folks present will have questions and even share personal stories/anecdotes that will add to this important topic.
Art has been a public safety professional for 50 years, and a lifelong angler for 68 years. His real passion is fishing the flats of Martha’s Vineyard, the Southern Bahamas, or anywhere else he can stalk fish. Though he has a great deal of knowledge of outdoor safety, he shared that he is constantly learning and reading up on the subject. Art has been a presenter regarding this topic at the Fly Fishing Show in Marlborough, MA, and he currently serving on the Board of Directors for the Nor’East chapter of TU.
This meeting will be held on Monday, April 3, at the Ipswich River Watershed Association located at 143 County Road, Ipswich, MA 01938. We will begin at 6:00pm with a dinner prepared by our resident chefs Kenny Washburn and/or Mike O’Neill (please BYOB). A raffle organized by Bob Torkildsen will follow the dinner. At 7:00pm, Arthur Howe will present to us live. See April Newsletter for remote login on Zoom.
